This scene analysis refers to the first dream sequence colloquially known as the Ladies Garden Club scene. It's a feat of bravery that earns Shaw the prestigious Medal of Honor -- just as the Chinese intended. From his campaign headquarters this morning, Senator Iselin stepped up his charges against the leader of the group attempting to block his nomination. One of these seventy-seven men was Staff Sergeant Raymond Shaw.

Iselin James Gregory. Iselin, the vice presidential candidate, will catch his falling body and then, she says, deliver "the most rousing speech I've ever read. Iselin tells Shaw that while she had requested a programmed assassin for the task, she never knew it would be her own son, who was selected by the communists in order to bind her more closely to their cause. More startling, though, is the complete lack of all sound when the camera finally returns to the soldiers, now sitting in the amphitheatre. Without memory of his deed, he cannot possibly feel guilt.

A stage mother from hell, she pushes her son Raymond Liev Schreiber into the vice presidency; a timely assassination will make him president. And Johnny will leave those microphones and those cameras with blood all over him, fighting off anyone who tries to help him, defending America even if it means his own death, rallying a nation of television-viewers into hysteria to sweep us up into the White House with powers that will make martial law seem like anarchy. Exceptional use of metaphor and casual but obscure asides serve to complement an intricate plot that twists and turns precariously to an abrupt, impacting climax. At the time, military intelligence and the CIA scrambled to understand what could motivate American fighting men to turn on their country. Big day! Conclusion Important in a film about brainwashing are the triggers to begin the missions.
